Your Clean Haircare Guide this Summer

Your Clean Haircare Guide this Summer

Summer is here and that means we get to enjoy more activities under the scorching heat of the sun. It may be a trip to the beach, long hours exploring a new city, or catching up with friends and sports outdoors. No matter what you’re doing this summer, many of us could use a little hair-TLC.

Here are ways you need to incorporate for your clean haircare guide to get the best, healthy-looking, smooth, soft hair this summer:

  1. Freshly shampoo and cleanse your hair

Wash your hair once, twice, or a little more often when needed, but make sure to use a good quality shampoo with quality ingredients to remove dirt and oil. Massage the shampoo into your scalp and let the water run down to your ends. Your ends will get enough cleansing from the water run-off.

Make sure to read labels and stay away from shampoo or hair products with sulfates, dyes and colorants, parabens, phthalates, and diethanalomine (DEA) and triethanolamine (TEA) because these ingredients are toxic and can cause some harm to your health in the long run. Try BHuman Battre Shampoo in Powder Form for a clean and healthy-looking, smooth, and manageable hair or check the rest of our clean shampoos here.

  1. Condition your hair to repair damage

Generously apply conditioner to the ends of your hair to repair any damage. We recommend Siam Botanical’s Siam Oriental Conditioner for normal & dry hair and John Master Organics Citrus & Neroli Conditioner to give your hair the right hydration without weighing it down. Conditioner is key to smooth hair as it smoothens your hair’s cuticle and adds volume, detangles, and protects the hair.

  1. Apply a hair mask

Once a month, or more often if you like, it’s a great idea to apply a hair mask to help heal damaged hair. Hair masks contain natural oils in heavier concentration than normal conditioners. You can apply the hair mask during a long, relaxing bath as it sits on the hair for at least three to five minutes. Apply the hair mask from root to tip to deeply nourish the hair.

  1. Air dry your hair and then blow dry it

When you air dry your hair, it helps retain moisture better, prevent breakage and protect it from heat. It’s best to limit the time your hair is wet, once your hair’s initial moisture has been wicked away, blow dry your hair to finish the drying process and limit the time you’ve applied heat to your hair. Try our John Master’s Vented Brush when drying your hair.

Once dry, finish your ends off with a little Sudtana’s Bergamot, Coconut & Sesame Nourishing Hair Oil or Sudtana’s Bergamot, Mint & Turmeric Scalp & Roots Treatment for an extra boost.

  1. Trim the split ends

For the healthiest hair, you’ll want to trim your split ends. Split ends can climb up the hair, causing more split ends. Every few weeks, you‘ll want to trim away any damage so visit the nearest salon or get a new haircut for that easy-breezy feeling this summer.

  1. Tie your hair loosely

If you like tying up your hair, it’s best to do it with a trusty scrunchie or hairclip that won’t break your hair. You can braid or plait your hair and tie it loosely, put it into a loose bun or ponytail with Invisibobble’s Hair Ties that comes in a variety of color and sizes.

  1. Wear a hat to protect your hair and scalp

The summer heat may be too harsh for your scalp and the UV rays can burn the hair or and cause it to dry out especially if you have color-treated. Make sure to bring a hat with you to protect hair from sun damage.

  1. Eat healthily and care for yourself

Eating healthily in general makes you look healthier outside and that includes getting healthier hair. Make sure to get the right nutrients, vitamins, and minerals in your diet so it shines through your locks. Check our website for fresh food, healthy snacks, and supplements.

  1. Be sure to drink water and get exercise

Stay hydrated all the time. Make sure you are drinking plenty of water and get some movement each day to keep you nourished and healthy.
